Debby Boone and Frank Langella Join Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops for "A Company Christmas at Pops" - Dec 16

Boston Pops Holiday Corporate Fundraiser has Raised more than $900,000 for the Boston Orchestras

On Wednesday, December 16, at 8 p.m., Boston Pops Conductor Keith Lockhart will lead the 26th annual “A Company Christmas at Pops,” one of the BSO’s most important annual fundraising events. Grammy award-winner Debby Boone will headline a list of special guests that includes film and Broadway actor Frank Langella, who will narrate “A Visit from St. Nicholas,” and the latest incarnation of the famous a cappella group, The Swingle Singers.

This year’s holiday fundraiser has raised more than $900,000 to benefit the Boston Symphony and Boston Pops orchestras, and represents support from nearly 100 New England companies. “A Company Christmas at Pops” is part of the Holiday Pops season, which takes place December 9-December 27, at Symphony Hall. William F. Achtmeyer and Richard F. Connolly, Jr. are the event chairs for this year’s “A Company Christmas at Pops.”

In addition to performances by Debby Boone, Frank Langella, and The Swingle Singers, the program will also feature an audience holiday favorite—the Merry Little Sing-Along, featuring “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas,” “The Christmas Song,” and “Jingle Bells.” Other holiday favorites include “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town,” “White Christmas,” and “Frosty All the Way.”

A limited number of tickets are available for public sale for “A Company Christmas at Pops.” Ticket details appear at the end of this press release. Companies interested in information about this program or other corporate programs at the BSO should contact Mary Thomson, Associate Director of Development Corporate Events, at 617-638-9278. The Boston Pops is on the internet at www.bostonpops.org.

Building on a beloved 26-year tradition, 200 youngsters from children’s service organizations throughout greater Boston will be invited as special guests to this year’s event. The “A Company Christmas at Pops” Children’s Program will take place at the Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston. Children will enjoy dinner, visits from Santa and costumed characters, and goodie bags provided by a variety of in-kind donors. Silver Fox Motorcoaches will provide buses to transport the children from the Fairmont Copley Plaza to Symphony Hall.
