Mahler’s Beethoven with the London Symphony Orchestra: Sunday 5 December, Barbican

Beethoven's Symphony No 7 is one of the composer's best-loved works, but on 5 December there's a chance to hear it from a new angle in an arrangement by Gustav Mahler, with the LSO under Marin Alsop. Mahler greatly revered Beethoven and was convinced that he would have not only approved of his edits, but most likely would have made them himself had he experienced the orchestra of Mahler's era.
