Six world-ranking pianists perform a complete cycle of Beethoven’s 32 Piano Sonatas at LSO St Luke’s each Thursday from 8 September – 24 November at 1pm. Across 12 recitals spanning three weeks Nicholas Angelich, Khatia Buniatishvili, Barry Douglas, Elisabeth Leonskaja, Llyr Williams and Shai Wosner will perform what is arguably the most important body of work ever composed for the piano. In addition, each performance is broadcast on BBC Radio 3.

2011/12 is the most ambitious BBC Radio 3 Lunchtime Concert season at LSO St Luke’s to date. In February 2012, Britain’s leading chamber ensemble, the Nash Ensemble, presents a series around some of the great chamber works of Brahms. March 2012 sees violinist Nicola Benedetti curating a series of four concerts in which she features as both soloist and chamber musician, performing alongside some of her closest musical colleagues. In May 2012, pianist Cédric Tiberghien, cellist Pieter Wispelwey, violinist Isabelle Faust and harpsichordist Mahan Esfahani perform solo recitals of music by JS Bach.
