Baltimore Symphony Orchestra Appoints Two New Board Members: Barbara Bozzuto and William Wagner

The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) announces two new appointments to its board of directors: Barbara Bozzuto, former president of Bozzuto Marketing and William Wagner, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Vocus. Ms. Bozzuto and Mr. Wagner bring to the board diverse areas of experience and fresh business strategies that will contribute to the BSO’s cultural and financial successes as one of Maryland’s leading arts organizations.

About Barbara Bozzuto
Barbara Bozzuto has been active as an executive and community leader within the Greater Baltimore region for 30 years. Among her many philanthropic activities, she is currently chair of the board of St. Agnes Hospital, sits on the Maryland committee for the 9/11 Memorial and was formerly the chair of the board of WYPR Radio. For ten years until 2000, Ms. Bozzuto was President of Bozzuto Marketing, a special events, sponsorship, and sports marketing company. Prior to that, she was the Executive Director for the Maryland Sports Corporation, Director of the Baltimore Office of Promotion and the Arts, Executive Director of Baltimore Operation Sail and Public Relations Director of Pride of Baltimore, Inc.

Ms. Bozzuto’s professional awards include Baltimore Magazine Top Businesswomen of the Year, Maryland’s Top 100 Women and the Caritas Award from St. Agnes Hospital. Her other volunteer activities have involved Maryland Science Center, Baltimore Women’s Giving circle charter member, Boys Hope Girls Hope, Miss USA Pageant in Baltimore and the Baltimore Choral Arts Society.

Ms. Bozzuto’s interests include studying and performing classical piano and collecting contemporary art and needlepoint. She received her B.A. in English Literature from Marymount College and a Teacher Certification from Yamaha Music School. Ms. Bozzuto lives with her husband, Thomas and has two children and six grandchildren.

About William Wagner
William Wagner is an accomplished marketing executive who brings to the board over 20 years of experience in marketing, sales and operations management in the technology industry. As the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Vocus—a public company that provides on-demand software solutions for communication professionals—Wagner is responsible for the company's day-to-day global operations in sales, service and marketing, with a primary focus on executing the company's growth strategy in the United States, Europe and China. Prior to joining Vocus, Mr. Wagner was Chief Marketing Officer at Fiberlink Communications, where he successfully repositioned the company as a global leader in security and mobility software for the enterprise market, introduced numerous successful products and service, and established multiple partnerships with leading technology companies. He also spent more than 10 years in marketing and sales leadership positions at AT&T.

Wagner earned his Bachelor of Arts from Lafayette College and his MBA from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business. He has acted as an advisor to several technology companies and currently serves on the Board of Directors of M5 Networks.
