The choreographers premiering their works in this production include Emery LeCrone, Archetypes ; Jodie Gates, Embellish ; and Amy Seiwert, Traveling Alone . Eighth Annual Bard SummerScape (July 8 – August 22) Presents Dance, Opera, Theater, Film, the Spiegeltent, and 21st-Anniversary Season of Bard Music Festival, “Berg and His World” The eighth annual Bard SummerScape festival opens on Thursday, July 8 at 8 pm with the first of four performances by the Trisha Brown Dance Company, comprising one of the trailblazing choreographer’s newest dances – L’Amour au théâtre (2009), two of her legendary Rauschenberg collaborations – Foray Forêt (1990) and You can see us (1995), and a duet from her 1996 piece, Twelve Ton Rose , which features the music of Anton Webern. The performances – a highlight of the company’s 40th anniversary season – will take place in the Frank Gehry-designed Richard B. As part of New York City Ballet’s “Architecture of Dance – New Choreography and Music Festival” On Thursday, April 29, New York City Ballet opened its 2010 spring season with the inaugural performance of the “Architecture of Dance – New Choreography and Music Festival.” The evening featured two world premieres beginning with Benjamin Millepied’s Why am I not where you are , choreographed to The Lost Dancer, a “splendid commissioned” work (Village Voice) by French composer Thierry Escaich.
