London Symphony Orchestra and Valery Gergiev Give a Free Concert in Trafalgar Square

MONDAY 27 MAY 2013 AT 6.30 PM Following the outstandingly successful first open-air, free concert in May 2012, the London Symphony Orchestra in partnership with BMW and the Mayor of London is returning to Trafalgar Square this year. The next annual BMW LSO Open Air Classics concert, which last year attracted an audience estimated in the press to be up to 10,000 people, will take place in the square on Monday 27 May 2013, Spring Bank Holiday Monday, at 6.30 pm. Principal Conductor of the LSO, Valery Gergiev will conduct an all-Berlioz programme. The aim of BMW LSO Open Air Classics is to bring outstanding music performed in the open air – free for everyone in an informal atmosphere. Gergiev and the LSO will perform Berlioz’s Overture Le corsaire, and Berlioz’s Symphonie fantastique. Celebrate Independence Eve with a free concert by the Colorado Symphony, a spectacular fireworks display and more!

Join Colorado Symphony for Independence Eve presented by Anadarko, a FREE Colorado Symphony concert, light show and fireworks display on Tuesday, July 3, in Denver’s Civic Center Park (Colfax & Broadway) beginning at 8:00 pm. Lawn seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis; arriving early is greatly encouraged, as are blankets or low-rise concert/beach chairs. Attendees are welcome to bring their own picnics; concessions will also be available on-site.

BMW LSO Open Air Classics Series: London Symphony & Valery Gergiev to Perform Free Open-Air Concert in Trafalgar Square

12 May 2012, 6.30pm, Trafalgar Square The London Symphony Orchestra and its Principal Conductor Valery Gergiev will give a concert in Trafalgar Square at 6.30pm on Saturday 12 May, free and open to everyone. The concert is the first in the BMW LSO OPEN AIR CLASSICS series, a major new partnership between the LSO and BMW. The programme will feature Stravinsky’s Fireworks , The Firebird suite and The Rite of Spring , as well as a performance of The Lite of Spring , an interpretation of Stravinsky’s work by Gareth Glyn for 100 young musicians from LSO Discovery, the Orchestra’s award-winning music education and community programme, who will play alongside LSO musicians on the stage. The concert begins at 6.30pm, is presented by LSO animateur Paul Rissmann and will feature large screens mounted on either side of the stage to allow the audience to witness the concert close up.

The first in a groundbreaking series of annual concerts will be conducted in Trafalgar Square by Principal Conductor of the LSO, Valery Gergiev, on Saturday 12 May at 6.30 pm. Colorado Symphony Announces "Colorado Remembers 9/11" Music Selections

Colorado Symphony to participate in Colorado Remembers 9/11, 10th Anniversary Commemorative Concert, at Denver's Civic Center Park September 11, 2011, marks the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. In remembrance of this national tragedy, Governor John Hickenlooper (and the State of Colorado) and Mayor Michael Hancock (and the City and County of Denver), in partnership with The Counterterrorism Education Learning Lab (The CELL), The Denver Post and AEGLive Rocky Mountains, are hosting a commemorative event and concert to honor victims, first responders and members of the U.S. Armed Forces on September 11, 2011, at Civic Center Park from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm. St Louis Symphony performs Free Forest Park Concert TONIGHT

Pack up your picnic basket, bring your lawn chairs and join the St. Louis Symphony for its free Forest Park concert on Thursday, September 8, 2011. Led by Resident Conductor Ward Stare, the Symphony musicians will perform a program full of highlights from the upcoming 2011-2012 season. The selections were chosen with the entire family in mind and will include works from Strauss, Mahler and Beethoven, plus scores from West Side Story, Mary Poppins and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. The concert begins at 7pm on Art Hill. Be sure to stay for the dazzling fireworks display immediately following the performance, generously provided by long-time Symphony friend Mary Ann Lee. The St. Louis Symphony’s free Forest Park concert is the perfect way to kick off the upcoming 2011-2012 Symphony season!

Colorado Symphony Presents Free Children's Concerts

Four upcoming Petite Musique concerts presented free-of-charge; feature 16-piece chamber orchestra This October, the Colorado Symphony will delight young children, families and teachers at four free children's concerts featuring a 16-piece chamber orchestra composed of all-Symphony musicians. A highlight of the Symphony's Petite Musique youth education series, the concerts are designed for children in preschool through grade two. Registration is now open for the concerts at 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 4 in Daniels Hall at Swallow Hill and on Monday, October 10 in Su Teatro at the Denver Civic Theatre. Advance registration for Petite Musique concerts is required. Parents and teachers can download registration forms at coloradosymphony.org .
