Pardon the Inattention...

Heavy workloads at University have led to missing a great deal of interesting news.

Here is a brief summation and links so we can catch up:

WQXR launches a new program 'Hope Springs Atonal' - it streams at: www.wqxr.org/Q2

The Threefifty Duo launched a new music series: www.sonicbids.com/threefiftyduo

Michael Tilson Thomas and the San Fracisco Symphony won THREE Grammy awards - for Best Classical Album, Best Engineered Classical Album, and Best Choral Performance. To catch up on the awards we missed you can check here: www.grammy.com

Michael Hersch's Last Autumn for Alto Sax and Cello had its World Premier in New York.

The Cleveland Orchestra with Pierre Boulez at the podium recorded an all-Mahler concert for future CD and DVD release.

Anne Sofie von Otter and William Christie explore French baroque arias in all-new recording from Deutsche Grammophon, available march 2, 2010.

Michael Tilson Thomas won the National Medal of the Arts. (This is certainly his year!)

Of course this is only a small fraction of the interesting news that slipped though our fingers while Chip was busy with University this past quarter. I hope to be able to get regular posts going again. In the short term - prepare to be deluged as I clear the TwinStar inbox. Eddie
